Default Lighting ..

Been playing around with spot lights in Bryce 6. Is there any insight to setting them to create good light points within scenes also which light is best for using in a street lamp

The only trick I've learnt is to place a gradient light in the same position as the street lamp bulb and to play around with the strength of the light source. Always best to change to a slightly orange hue for street lighting.
Hope that helps, if not just ask for more info.
Tony.

I have found that's the best way also..
I also like to play around with the Glass in the Street Light..
Not all clears are the same.. You can add alittle color to the glass..

I'm not sure with Bryce, but in Carrara you can get different effects with gels and/or light cones when you add them to spot lights (which I use for outdoor lightings such as street lamps, ect.) - you might want to play with the gradiants as suggested, and the coloring of the glass...and see if Bryce has the option of gels and/or light cones to accompany that.

Default gels and/or light cones

Yes Bryce has gels and/or light cones .... both plus more..
You can look around online and find more gels..
Or make your own.. There's some tuts out there for that..
Some times I use a light material NOT a light .. I would apply it to the Glass in the street light.. It would GLOW ... You can control how bright, color, etc..
Then add lights where needed.. The street light will never light your scene the way you want to. IMHO .... Then you would use gels and/or light cones .
I don't care for the light cones.. I use light spheres. Works best for me..
In my IOTW.. I used a light gel on the Sub. if you look close..
I'll see if I can find the tut on making Light Gels..
Good Luck, Larry

I unloaded a Bryce 6 scene that has lights, gels, fog, etc..
You can have and use.. Hope they help
