Default Welding in Carrara ?

OK Just reloaded Carrara 5 that I had on my older computer. I'm still at the Duuuuuuuhhhhh stage with Carrara though. Read somewhere that it is possible in Carrara to weld vertices. Ergo: it must be possible to un-weld, no? I'd like to cut the long sleeves off an evening gown object. Can we do this?
Yes we can ! ! ! No. Seriously. Need to know. Even if the answer is use something else. Thanks in advance for any hints.

I pulled Aery Soul's Nym pants into C6 pro, and there is no option to delete any of the polys or verticles in the modeling room. I'm wondering now if there is a way for people to prevent others from doing this and reselling their works as their own, or if I'm just not seeing it.

I know you can do this in Hex, easily. I've done it before. There is a way to delete out sections using booleans, but I haven't tried that on pre-made and pre-rigged clothing.

Hm.

I'll keep trying after work-hopefully someone can find out what that is! I'm checking with a few artists in Carrara, too, just in case I'm missing something.

Any 3D modeling program can remove or add.and nope there isnt a way to make something non editable for a good or any 3D modeling program.
in carrara 7 Pro all you have to do is go into the model tab, which is the little wrench looking thing on the upper right hand corner (..dont know if its same in the 5 or 6 version.)
Make sure edit mode is set to modeling mode,(the 3 choices in that section are modeling mode, animation mode,uv editing mode)
in the selection mode select either regular selector or the vertex selector depending on how you wanna delete (remove)(then of coarse select the points, vertices, poly's ect..) then just press delete on your keyboard.

Had to edit this. left the last part bout selecting the vertices ,polys, ect out.
I forget sometimes that most just use 3D modeling Programs just to render their Daz/Poser content, and might not know what the crap I'm talking about.
If you need any help let me know,I'm modeling something everyday so im sorta sure i bumped into most of those annoying little 3D problems .

goodluck
